At my age, I do not expect to be joyful all the time. That is unreasonable to everyone, I imagine. What I have experienced though, is that I am randomly, but continually “surprised by joy” If I keep my eyes open and pay attention to life, I will be “surprised by joy” An example of this happened to me when I spotted a robin taking a bath in our birdbath. That bird was flapping and flailing away. The water was flying everywhere. I burst out laughing…surprised by such a joyful sight. That did not erase the difiicult times…it just popped up, even in difficult times.
Keep your eyes open…it can happen to you! 🤣
