Ken, 77, England

My students give me joy when they learn to believe in the moment and accept life's journeys bad and good....
Here is their snapshot of why:
The benefits of Thai Chi were not completely apparent to me when I first started at Ken’s class, my thinking was that it may just help in aiding my flexibility as I got older, but with an excellent instructor in Ken, with so much knowledge and experience, I am now learning a completely new way of improving my life style with better health benefits for both mind and body within a group of great fellow students. Thankyou, Invitation to Health, Ken.
.................

I have been training now with you in T'ai Chi and Nambudo for approximately 7 months. When I began I had a range of various and painful chronic illnesses and my mental health wasn't too great either, due to two lockdowns.

When I started to train I had problems with balance, all over body pain, stiffness and muscle pain, lack of energy and weakness. Within weeks my mental health improved. As I continued to train and to practice I have become physically stronger, so much so that family and friends have commented on the change.

My balance has improved so I am now confident that I can keep my balance and not fall. Previously, I used to fall often, ending up battered and bruised!

For the first time in many years I have the strength and energy to walk my dog, and to do the ordinary daily things that most people may take for granted. Chris, and I can take the dog out for an hour or so without him worrying that I'm going to fall, or that I won't be able to carry on because of severe pain and chronic fatigue.

I am much more positive and as a result I am a much happier person. My life is worth living. For the first time in my life I feel alive. If all this wasn't enough I really enjoy the classes, your company and that of my fellow students.

What has happened to me through these 7 months of training with you seems to me like a miracle. I am truly grateful and blessed to have found such an extraordinary teacher Ken... Namaste... Elaine 🕊️

I joined “invitation to health “classes to see if tai chi was for me. Now several years later I am so glad I took this step. I feel strong in mind body and spirit and look forward to each and every class. Remembering the movements can be challenging, but with Ken’s patience and understanding (and sense of humour) the movements seem to flow into place. Would thoroughly recommend “invitation to health” to anyone - young or more mature- for improving your health and giving a feeling of well-being it can’t be beaten.

When I started Tai Chi and later Qi gong it was purely on the advice of my osteoperosis nurse as it would strengthen my bones and help with balance thereby preventing potentially damaging falls. This is true, it has also strengthened my confidence and ability to deal with challenges in all areas of my life.I no longer "catastraphise" a situation, waste valuable energy on misdirected anger or adopt a victim role " why does this happen to me". I am learning to take responsibility for my actions and the role I play in my situation, that's not to say I'm at fault (although sometimes I am), but rather own my choice to respond to a situation in a particular way. This is extremely liberating and empowering for me I've become aware of my "patterns" and how I reference current negative events with bad experiences from my past. You are giving me the tools to make changes and adjustments so that I can be a better, happier version of myself, I don't have to be better than anyone else to be "good enough" , just so long as I'm satisfied with myself and my efforts. It's because I value and enjoy my training that I turn up in the cold and wet because when I'm training none of that matters. Namaste

All of this brings me joy...and has done for several decades...
